Man dies following drowning in Double Bay

A man has died after being pulled from the water in Sydney’s east this afternoon.

At around 2.30pm (Thursday 4 December 2025), emergency services were called to Murray Rose Pool on New South Head Road, Double Bay, following reports that a man had drowned.

Police attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command arrived to find an unresponsive man had been pulled from the water by members of the public.

CPR was commenced by bystanders, community first responders and Paramedics.

A specialist medical team was dispatched by helicopter to assist, however were called to after all efforts to resuscitate the man were unsuccessful.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
