Pedestrian in serious condition after being struck by Lime hire bike in Bondi

A 25-year-old woman has been taken to hospital after being struck by a rider on a hire Lime Bike in Flood St in Bondi this evening.

Around 9.00pm emergency services responded to reports that a woman was in a critical condition after it was alleged a rider had collided with her on a pedestrian crossing.

Police arrested a person who is understood to have failed an alcohol breath test.

A specialist medical team assessed the young woman and made a decision to sedate her on scene prior to transport to hospital.

She is understood to be in a serious but stable condition after sustaining a head injury.

Police have towed the Lime Bike for examination and testing.
