Emergency services search for missing swimmer in Bronte
A major search operation involving Surf Life Saving NSW, Police, Ambulance and the Marine Rescue command was tasked at around 7.45pm this evening after a man disappeared in a rip at Bronte Beach.
A nipper who was at the beach with his family at the time was alerted and he alerted his father who was also a Surf Life saving volunteer at Bronte.
Two families of off duty life savers responded and commenced the search for the missing swimmer.
NSW Police arrived and coordinated with NSW Ambulance along with the Ambulance Helicopter and Marine Rescue command.
The missing swimmer is understood to be a male who was last seen by his friend after they got into trouble during the evening swim.
Police will be coordinating a search with Surf Life Saving from 6.30am tomorrow morning.
