Man arrested after stabbing in South Coogee

About 10.30pm (Tuesday 25 October 2022), emergency services were called to a unit on Yamba Place, South Coogee, following reports of a stabbing.

On arrival, officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command located a 35-year-old man with stab wounds to his chest.

A critical care medical team responded to assist local intensive care paramedics.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a stable condition.

A 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Maroubra Police Station, where he is assisting police with inquiries.

It's understood the men were known to eachother.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue.
