Hero builder rescues stabbed woman in Dover Heights
A hero builder has come to the rescue of a woman who was stabbed this afternoon in Dover Heights.
Just after midday, a 46-year-old woman was stabbed in her chest with a kitchen knife at a property on Weonga Rd.
The woman screamed for help and local builders came rushing up the street.
The builder, Peter from Trident Design and Construction said the woman managed to get a hold of the knife and throw it towards the street.
Peter managed to get the knife and a man, alleged to be the offender demanded the knife to be handed over.
Peter moved backwards and the alleged offender continued to approach him, eventually the man calmly walked away back to his white Audi vehicle.
Peter called the police and gave the registration details to them. The car and alleged offender were intercepted on Cambpell Parade in Bondi Beach.
Peter and his construction team stayed with the woman and rendered aid until the arrival of NSW Ambulance.
Three ambulances and the aero medical team were dispatched. A helicopter with doctor landed at Dudley Page Reserve to assess the injures and she was transported to hospital in a stable condition.
Police closed part of Weonga Rd and established a crime scene.
It's understood the woman's husband attended the property a short time later.
Police have arrested a 46-year-old man, his white Audi has been towed and will be forensically examined.
On the 9th August, 2022 the 46-year-old man was charged with Cause Wounding GBH with intent to murder.
He has been refused bail to appear before Waverley Local court today.
