Residents evacuated after structural collapse in Randwick

Emergency services have attended a unit in Wentworth St, Randwick after part of a building collapsed.

Residents reported shifting in the building late last night and this progressed into the morning.  In the early hours the building facade collapsed and emergency services were contacted.

Fire & Rescue, SES, NSW Police, Local Emergency Management and a council engineer have attended to assist.

The residents have been evacuated from the unit involved.

Ongoing storm activity and heavy rains are believed to be a contributing factor.
